Our aim is for the safest recovery of the vehicle to be towed.
We take great care to minimise the loss of freight and infrastructure disturbance.
We can oversee the recovery of the load and clean up of the accident scene ensuring that the costs are fair to you and your insurance company.
Our service excels with digital photos and accident recording.

We can contact your employer, receivers, suppliers or loved ones on your behalf. We also offer the safe transportation of the driver back to their base or home as required.
The damaged vehicle will be taken where ever you nominate or alternatively to our holding yard until you decide which avenue you wish to take regarding the repair or disposal of the damaged  vehicle.

Recovery & heavy winching:

Often road transport equipment and machinery can require emergency assistance, this is where GREYSTANES RECOVERY  can offer specialist services.
Should you find yourself upside down, buried to the axles, in a position that you may think is beyond the point of no return or simply short on traction in a lazy axle truck that’s negotiating severe angle changes in the road, we have many solutions which are cost effective, safe and professional to turn any situation around and get you back on the road as fast as possible.

You may think that an enormous crane costing tens of thousands of dollars to set up to achieve the desired lift at such a distance from the carrier is required. You may also tackle challenges such as trees or overhead cables that interfere with the suitability of a crane choice.

Greystanes recovery has a fleet of specialist recovery vehicles.
The issues pointed out above are more common than you may think, we do not frown upon the situation we simply take a professional approach employing smart techniques and the most suitable equipment ensuring limited down time and cost effectiveness.

Our fleet of trucks carry various equipment to aid emergency situations. We can carry out the recovery of vehicles in extreme situations such as a cab over truck buried in mud to the door handles or submerged in water or melted and fatigued  from fire damage. We can work in lower clearance areas than cranes and directly pull a load in various directions using snatch blocks (sheave blocks) up to 100tonne.

Our heavy recovery units have:
Hydraulic anchor legs which provide the much needed stability on any surface and support the truck from moving towards the load in question.
Cable length of up to 80 meters.
Recovery slings & straps
Chains & snatch blocks
Recovery booms which hydraulically extend (this is used in many different ways but commonly used to upright vehicles where access is preferred or available on the roof side of the overturned unit.
The recovery boom can be used to carefully lower a fragile truck once it has got to the point of nearly upright.
If a truck and trailer weighs 42.5 tonne fully loaded and has fallen onto its side the required pull from a recovery boom truck with the boom raised is 50% which equals 21.25 tonnes to upright onto its wheels.
We regularly offer this service.
Our kenworth has a combined line pull which can be rigged in a way which exceeds 50tonne.

Airbags and jacks

We have a special purpose air jack system suitable for many different applications including floating submerged vehicles from the waterways.
Supporting various loads that would normally be too fragile for concentrated lifting and uprighting overturned loaded vehicles.
Our system includes starter bags, various size lifting bags and a drop bag system that can be used with a heavy vehicle recovery unit eliminating unloading of freight and excessive loads placed on areas of the unit in which the recovery unit would be anchored to.

Vehicle towing
Our tow trucks are suitable for towing vehicles that do not fit on tilt trays or heavy haulage trailers.
We can tow cars, motor homes, any truck or bus and also trucks with one or two trailers.
Our specialist equipment incorporates the ability to choose between tyre lifting, suspension lifting, axle or chassis lift
In suburban areas some vehicles that may fit on a recovery trailer or tilt tray may not be suitably transported due to restrictions by low clearance electricity and optus lines, railway bridges, road and pedestrian bridges.
We have auxillary lighting systems, auxillary air systems which prepare the vehicle in such a way that it travels safely for the owner and other road users alike
Towing semi
Tilt Trays

Tilt tray trucks offer a service of economical and fast self loading.
Different sized trucks carry loads up to 20 tonne.
Rigid tilt trays carry loads with dimensions of 3.5m high x 8.5m long x 3.0m wide x 11 ton,Semi trailer tilt trays like our extendable model carry loads 3.9m high x 14m long x 3.0m wide x 20 ton.


General transport

Our tilt trays and semi trailers are available for any load that can be carried safely, we carry ropes, straps, padding and timber.
General freight inc. Palletised can be carried, also we have a forklift available at our depot if required.
We will do the local taxi truck style work as well as send any of our trucks on a long distance trip.

 
Heavy haulage

We offer regular transport services of equipment and are well equipped to operate and float any type of machinery up to 50tonne.
We have sub-contractors with equipment for machinery that is in excess of 50 tonne where our trailers are not suitable.
A 10% admin cost to the invoice is attracted to sublet services.

 

Bulk break cargo

We have wharf MISC licensed operators who can float machinery or components to or from the Sydney or port Kembla wharfs in New South Wales.

Prime mover hire

The prime movers in our fleet are very universal, fitted with air slide turn tables, hydraulic PTO and 12/24V elec systems. This means between our heavy tow trucks and prime movers we can haul loaded or empty trailers in good nick, damaged or defective. (if damaged or defective to closest point of repair/unload). Our prime movers are registered tow trucks so they can be legally operate at an accident scene.
We carry chains, dog straps, various air and elect fittings in each unit.
Tow haulier hire is available also.

Interstate transport

We have a regular run servicing Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne monthly and can accommodate any load type for this run in either direction.
Interstate heavy towing for high vehicles is accepted and to keep your costs down we can organise to do change over with other interstate  sub contractors. This ensures fast delivery and avoids complexities with interstate oversize, over mass permits and tow truck legislation.

Driveable heavy vehicle relocations
With the use of a “trade plate” a driver will be employed to arrive at the pick up location and drive any register-able roadworthy heavy vehicle: local Sydney metro or interstate.
This service has some advantages and disadvantages.
The advantages are no removal of driveline components that need to be refitting to a pre-drivable vehicle.
High vehicles such as pantech or curtain side and buses are easier driven than loaded on special equipment.
The disadvantages are if the unit breaks down the tow costs on top may break your relocation budget.
The unit may get a defect from the roads authority causing a future expense.
Logistics driving a utility with two staff can be same as towing costs for metro area one way relocation.

Roadside assistance

We offer motorists within the Sydney metro area a full road service option this includes
Fuel supply : Cars towed to fuel service stations and heavy vehicles can be either towed in or have fuel carried to the unit, depending on the road angle, traffic conditions and type of fuel required.

Jump starts:

Our heavy vehicle tow trucks  and service vehicle carry booster jump packs suitable for 12 or 24 volt electrical systems, if the system was  drained fully we can dispatch a 12 or 24 volt truck with heavy duty jump cables to get you back on the road fast, we are also suitably equipped to supply air ( for release of spring brakes) and tow start  a vehicle that will not start, with a  faulty starter motor for example.

Battery supply and fit:

this service may be suitable where a repair is not available and driving the truck to another location is easier than towing.
We can provide batteries and install them for you. If you have an electrical problem that is easy to fix we have electrical contractors who can attend to you.
On occasion a tow service may be offered to you due to the nature of your location and the time that request is made.

Tyres:

Many of our units can inflate your flat tyre and assist with tyre changes and to compliment this service we can have contractors that can offer full services of tyre repair and or replacement.
